To whom much is given, much is required.
Our firm is named after a vibrant community in Kingston, Jamaica which was built in 1963, one year after Jamaica’s Independence from the British. It was in Harbour View that the Clarke siblings first saw the boundless opportunities inspired by unobstructed views, where the horizon is clear and hope springs eternal. The Clarke siblings – Hyacinth, Roy, Trevor, Fay, Desmond (father of Sherrese Clarke Soares), Raynald, Patricia, and Marjorie, came of age in the 50’s and 60’s when Ska and Reggae music began its journey around the world exporting Jamaican culture and ingenuity. As the Clarke siblings left home and traveled the world to study abroad, they retained the hope, ambition and endless possibilities that moving to Harbour View inspired.
The HarbourView Foundation is formed in their honor to support the ambitions of countless other communities as they dare to dream. HarbourView Foundation is a 501c3 foundation, founded in 2021, that donates to non-profits organized to support a variety of initiatives including the performing arts, women’s rights, and issues facing immigrant, black, latinx, and LGBTQ+ communities. All HarbourView stakeholders are invited to participate in the Foundation with their time and treasure. To learn more email foundation@harbourviewequity.com.
